Is the CBD Market Seeing More Opportunity in the New Year?

3.jpg

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of CBD products available on the market. What are these products and why are they gaining popularity? There have been many reported health benefits from CBD extracts. These include the reduction of seizures in children as well as a decrease in the frequency of depression. In adults it is believed to help alleviate some symptoms of arthritis, chronic pain, migraine headaches, nausea and even nausea and vomiting. Check it out!

What are the benefits of CBD products? Charlotte's Web, a pharmaceutical company in North Carolina, began selling a proprietary CBD extract in August of 2021. The company has been researching CBD and its many potential uses since that time. "We believe that CBD offers a new avenue for treating ailments that had not been addressed so far," said CEO Michael Schloss. "The ingredients in Charlotte's Web have been thoroughly evaluated, which ensures high quality and potency." He went on to add, "CBD products offer a safe, low-dose, oral use with no known side effects, making them an ideal addition to modern medicine."

Who is the target market for these upcoming CBD products? At present, it is believed that the primary target market will be patients with debilitating diseases such as epilepsy, cancer, MS, or other serious disorders. In addition, people who may be suffering from a form of anxiety disorder, including panic attacks, depression, or obsessive-compulsive disorders, could also benefit from this dietary supplement. In the future, it is expected that CBD products will also become available for children with autism, Down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, and other conditions.

Is there an herbal dietary supplement currently available? Currently, there is not yet a commercial CBD product available that is derived from any type of cannabis, although there are research and development efforts in this area. Nevertheless, cannabidiol can be extracted from hemp plants through a process called steam distillation. Although there has been no release of commercially-available CBD products, numerous online retailers have begun selling CBD oils and capsules. For more info, click here!

The United States government, under the pretense of keeping marijuana illegal, ordered the closure of two cannabis retail outlets in Los Angeles, California, due to public pressure. Soon thereafter, the federal government began to seek protection from the threat of cannabis cultivation within the jurisdiction. If the FDA has its way, CBD could be included in any cannabis product that leaves the plant during distribution. In a similar fashion, the state of Colorado is considering a bill, which would allow patients to use CBD as a treatment for seizures, nausea, glaucoma, and other medical ailments. According to the bill's author, Representative Jared Huffman, the California State Legislature was instrumental in securing the passage of this legislation.

Should the CBD market opportunity, like many other pharmaceutical products, escape the strict control of the FDA, a number of lawsuits could ensue. This could ultimately impact patient care, and profitability for both CBD producers and distributors. Many entrepreneurs are hopeful that the CBD market will be able to sustain itself, as the FDA issues more approvals for new pharmaceutical drugs. In the meantime, organizations such as the National Institute on Deception, or NID, are monitoring developments regarding cannabidiol and other plant extracts. While the FDA has issued some statements indicating that it is not considering CBD as an effective medicine, numerous medical organizations have taken note of conflicting research, and are awaiting further announcements from the FDA regarding further studies.
